    Let’s Get To Know “Topaz”

🔵Topaz, also known as yellow crystal in mineralogy, is composed of aluminum fluorosilicate. Since consumers tend to confuse the name topaz with that of yellow jade, the commercial term “topaz” is often used to label gem-quality topaz. Because of its high transparency and hardness, topaz is highly reflective, and it’s beautiful color, it is quite popular.

🔵Topaz is the birthstone of the month of November, also known as the “Stone of Friendship”, is one of the most popular gemstones in today’s market, legend has it that wearing jewelry inlaid with topaz can extinguish anger, so it has always been recognized as a symbol of peace and friendship, expressing people’s desire for a friendly heart as well as good fortune and happiness.

    🌈Color
➡The vast majority of natural topazes are colorless and yellow, and almost all blue topazes on the market today are irradiated and color-altered.

➡Topaz is usually classified by color: sherry, blue, pink and colorless.

    🟠Sherry
The most important varieties of topaz include yellow and brown topaz, orange and orange-red with brown components, light orange-yellow, and golden yellow. The most expensive is the orange-yellow topaz, known as the “emperor” stone.

    💙Blue
Includes sky blue (bright colored blue), London blue (bright dark blue) and Swiss blue (light blue).

    💗Pink
Refers to pink, light red to light fuchsia or violet colored topaz. It is mainly made from yellow and brown topaz by irradiation and heat treatment.

    ⚪️Colorless
Used in the past as a substitute for diamonds, it was once called the “slave diamond”.

💡The most valuable colors are red、sherry and brown ,followed by blue. Yellow topaz is close in appearance to the inexpensive yellow crystal and can be easily confused with it. It is therefore not very expensive.

    🌐Origin
Brazil is the world’s source of high-quality topaz, which is mostly found in granite pegmatites and produces gemstones that include a variety of color varieties. In addition, Sri Lanka, the United States, Russia, Australia and other countries also have gem-quality topaz output. China’s topaz is mainly produced in Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi and Xinjiang.

    Clarity
➡The clarity of topaz is so high that there are usually no inclusions or blemishes to be seen on a well-polished topaz, and this near-perfect clarity is one of the reasons why topaz is so popular in the marketplace.

    ✨Optimized treatments
➡Common treatments for Topaz include: heat treatment, irradiation + heat treatment, diffusion treatment, and lamination.

    Color Fading
➡How long does the blue color of color-changing blue topaz last? Fading simulations and exposure to sunlight over the past 5 years have shown that the color fades by only 2-3%, which means that it is impossible to see a significant fading of the color in 50 years.

    🔊Maintenance
⭕Colored Topaz may be more unstable or faded due to sunlight, avoid prolonged exposure to strong light
    ⭕Wear-resistant, avoid collision
⭕Avoid ultrasonic equipment cleaning, avoid excessive temperature differences
