❤Rubellite’s name means as ruby, in the naming of the name took the phonetic translation of one Rubellite, in the past when gemmology is not developed, it is often mistaken for ruby, and Rubellite is also a kind of tourmaline in the family of tourmaline. So it is also known as rubellite tourmaline.
❤Rubellite does not have a unique chemical composition that distinguishes it from other tourmalines, making it a separate tourmaline variety. As a result, the exact definition of rubellite has been debated in the marketplace.

✅Color of Rubellite
🔴The color rating applies to tourmaline with intense red, reddish pink, and brilliant pink colors. Rubellite tourmalines that are highly saturated with medium to medium depth shades of light and dark are called brilliant rubellite. Those with brown tones cannot be called rubellite. The color of rubellite is pink to red, sometimes with a slight purple tint, and remains a consistent color in both natural and artificial light.
✅Origin of Rubellite
🔴Brazil has the best quality of tourmaline in the world. Brazil’s tourmaline production is concentrated in the state of Minas Gerais, where the colorful tourmaline is produced, and more than a dozen colors have been mined to date, encompassing virtually all of the tourmaline’s colors. Red and green tourmaline from Brazil sells well and is the country’s main mineral resource, mostly produced in the rich local pegmatite veins.
🔴California in the United States is also one of the major producers of tourmaline. American tourmaline deposits are mined mainly by digging, which makes it easier to mine tourmaline than in other producing regions.
🔴Other origins: The Siberian region of Russia, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and Burma also have tourmaline, but the texture is not as good as Brazilian tourmaline.
✅How to choose a rubellite
🔴Color: High-end rubellite has a reddish but not blackened color, and the fuller the saturation, the better. The closer the color is to that of a ruby, the better it is and the more valuable it is.
🔴Clarity: Rubellite belongs to a variety of gemstones rich in inclusions, often containing tubular, filamentous and irregular inclusions. Inclusions are visible to the naked eye, and pure ones are particularly rare; appropriate inclusions are acceptable without affecting the fire of the stone. Although the fewer inclusions visible to the naked eye the better for rubellite tourmaline, there are too few such superb examples.
🔴Cutting: Rubellite has high requirements for cutting, not suitable for cutting too many facets, superb cutting will feel the crystal more pure, in addition, it is best not to leak the bottom, so that the fire color has a better effect.
🔴Weight: equal texture, large carat is more valuable, but also according to their own needs to choose the size. As a collector’s rupee, a weight of 10 carats or more is preferable.
